Campus Ministry Staff Positions


China Outreach Ministries is seeking full-time and part-time staff members to join existing campus teams or to begin new campus ministries at key US and Canadian university locations.  As a COM campus staff member you will help meet the social, emotional and spiritual needs of Chinese students and scholars and their families through friendship, practical helps, evangelism, and discipleship training.


We are looking for individuals who are called by God to serve in ministry and possess the following qualifications:

  • Christian maturity – friendly, mature, and hospitable with a balanced, integrated faith.
  • Willingness to raise a personal ministry and support budget, assisted by COM training, ministry coaches and resources.  (Note:  In some cases, startup funds may be available for work on new campuses.)
  • College education and informal or formal Biblical/theological training.
  • Helpful but not required:  Experience teaching in China, TESOL training, Chinese language skills, cross-cultural ministry experience, seminary or Bible school degrees.


Campus staff members share Christ’s love with Chinese students and scholars by:

  • Meeting felt needs through practical services (e.g. working with volunteers and churches, housing assistance, transportation, cultural orientation, English classes, professional seminars, etc.).
  • Developing friendships and sharing Christ with individuals and groups.
  • Organizing trips and special activities.
  • Leading investigative Bible studies and fellowship groups.
  • Recruiting and training N. American friendship partners, host families, and volunteers.
  • Teaching and discipling new believers and preparing them to return to China as devoted, multiplying followers of Christ.



Individuals or couples who are:


  • Willing and called to serve.
  • Committed to full-time ministry. (Part-time and tentmaker positions possible, although not preferred.)
  • Energetic, organized, and self-directed.
  • Love the Lord and are passionate about reaching the nations.
  • Team players who are willing to work with others to build a strong, effective ministry team.

Communications Coordinator



The Communications Coordinator creates and implements a comprehensive, targeted communications program that advances COM's mission by:

• Identifying key audiences and developing messages that will encourage their prayer, financial support and active participation in COM’s ministry.

• Creating organization-wide communication and marketing materials, including newsletters, brochures, appeals, special event materials, annual reports, etc.

• Overseeing and maintaining COM’s website and social media presence.


China Outreach Ministries is a tax-exempt nonprofit organization based in Mechanicsburg, PA. Its mission is to give Christ to Chinese students and scholars, future leaders of China, who study or do research at American universities. COM staff, working in university communities throughout the U.S., offer hospitality, social ac vi es, English classes and a variety of practical services to help these students and scholars succeed. As COM staff members build friendships, they share Christ and offer Bible studies for those who are interested. They mentor and disciple those who come to Christ and help those who return to China as believers become Christ-like leaders for their families, communities, and professions. Ministry staff work closely with local churches and volunteers, involving them in reaching and discipling scholars.


COM is seeking a mature disciple of Jesus Christ to fill this position, one who is self-motivated and committed to achieving COM’s goals. A candidate must have outstanding interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication skills. He/she must be able to effectively communicate COM’s vision, goals, programs and ac vi es through a variety of media. The candidate must have a working knowledge of graphic design, photography, social media and other communications tools.


Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree and two years experience in communications, media, public relations or related fields.


The Communications Coordinator works in the COM Leadership Center in Mechanicsburg, PA. He/she works with COM leaders and staff members, with internal and external audiences, and with media representatives. Air and car travel may be required to fufill responsibilties.


COM offers medical, dental, and life insurance plus a 403(b) retirement plan.
